Action mechanism of yieldin
Irreversible elongation of plant cells is driven by turgor and is restricted by theextension of cell walls surrounding the cells. The extension of the cell walls dependson their mechanical parameters; the extensibility () and the yield threshold (Y). Theregulation mechanism of the latter mechanical parameter remains unknown. On 2000, we have isolated and purified a wall protein that regulate Y, and named ityieldin. Our aim is making clear the regulation mechanism of plant wall extension viathe analysis of yieldin action mechanism, and then, building up a new recombinantplant that are able to grow under parched or soiled circumstances.
